What’s the Story? – My Baby Twins

Baby laughing twins

These are my beautiful identical twin boys, taken when they were around 5 months old. I love this picture, along with some of the others taken in the same photo session, because they look so absolutely scrummy and happy in them all. H is laughing his head off, his gums on show (I love that gummy baby look) and O has his mouth open – something he often did in photographs for some reason which is funny! Think he’s trying to lick the piece of fabric he’s lying on, or suck H’s arm (they did this regularly to each other) hehe!

These photo’s were taken by a friend of mine at the time who I met at my daughter’s school, her own daughter was in the same class as mine. She has since moved away so we are not in contact anymore, although we are friends on FB etc. I feel I should share a link to her site because I’m using this photo – her website is www.siobhanmurphyphotography.co.uk/.. she is based in Bedfordshire and is a very talented lady.

She was just beginning to venture into children’s photography at the time this was taken after years of being a wedding photographer and she asked if she could use my twins as models for her portfolio, and to practice on! She had never taken pictures of twins before so it was valuable experience for her and I was more than willing to oblige.

I’m a soppy old fool and I’m distraught at the thought of my twins starting school this September. They are August babies (as I’ve mentioned before) and will be the youngest in their class…they were premature and should’ve been born in September so I kind of feel cheated out of another precious year at home with them. They seem so young for their age anyway so I’m worried about them, and I don’t feel ready to let them go yet, at all.

Looking at this picture makes me sad in a way. It was a tough time back then, coping with them when they were helpless young babies, as well as running around with two older children I feel as though that first year was a blur and that breaks my heart. I wish I could go back in time and spend days just cuddling, kissing and playing with them, relishing every single, treasured moment….

‘What’s the story?’ is a new photography linky set up by Charly from Podcastdove blog. The idea is that you link up a photo then add a little description (if you wish) to accompany it. This is the first time I’m linking up so I’m rather excited!

I’m also linking up with the fabulous ‘Magic Moments’ over at Oliver’s Madhouse!  If you click on the badges below you can view all the other fab posts that other bloggers have added too.

Aww thank you so much. I honestly don’t know how I did it either – I was completely exhausted all the time. Worth it though. I wouldn’t change it for the world (well a nanny would’ve been helpful lol). I’d do it all again in an instant 🙂 Thanks for hosting its a lovely linky x
