Project 365 and Diary Update Week 8

Half term this week.

I love having my children at home, I look forward to the school holidays wholeheartedly. Partly because I despise the usual morning rush of a school day but mainly because I relish spending lazy mornings with my little brood just watching tv or dvd’s, cuddled up somewhere.

Day 47 - Sunday 16th February We didn't do much on this day apart from watch tv, the Winter Olympics to be exact. I love the ice skating so thought I'd take this photo!

Day 47 – Sunday 16th February
We didn’t do much on this day apart from watch tv, our usual Sunday ritual when it’s cold…the Winter Olympics are in full swing and I’ve actually been enjoying them, I can’t say I’ve taken much notice before. I love the ice skating so thought I’d take this photo! I believe this was the French pair.

As I mentioned in my Diary Update last week, my daughter’s best friend is moving schools so they won’t be together at school as of Monday, which is so sad and going to be very different for my Girl, she has never known anything else as they’ve been as thick as thieves since nursery. However, they made the most of the half term holidays and had a DOUBLE sleepover. I dropped my excited girl off on Monday and didn’t pick her up until Wednesday. They had a great time, they really do play well together, they have their arguments but they love each other and are so in tune.

My girl also had gymnastics twice this week so it didn’t really leave much time to organise other activities, which was fine by me as what I wanted most this half term was for everyone to relax and recharge. We’re so busy rushing around normally, I didn’t want to be doing that this week.

Day 48 - Just had my boys at home. We all made blueberry muffins! They were delicious even if a tad burnt!

Day 49 - We had a play date over at a friends house. The teddies that we have home from school came with us too! Posing in this fab toy Porche

The teddies also had a trip to Nannie's house and played with her dog! So hopefully we'll have lots to write about when we give the teddies back lol

Day 51 - We managed the garden, taking the cricket bat and ball that we received from Little Big Sports out for a play!

Day 52 - I had arranged a play date for my twins before school broke up for the half term with a friend from their class. He has a sister the same age as my girl and a few others came along too. We were initially going to a play area but we'd heard it was ridiculously busy so we changed plans and decided to go to the park. Fresh air and free!! This is the fab little train at the park!

It was actually freezing on Friday, the wind was howling and we were glad to get home after this!

We had some bad news at the end of this week. My father in law passed away. He’d been ill for some time and I guess we were expecting it but still very sad, especially for the OH.

Teen spent the week hanging out with friends. I don’t allow him to wonder around aimlessly and I like to know where he is at all time, this is especially true after his recent escapades! He’s also been studying for a Statistics GCSE exam which he’s taking a year early this summer, part of which is coursework that begins next week! Eek…. I can’t believe my son who it feels like only just started high school, is now preparing for GCSE’s… it doesn’t seem possible!

Day 53 – Finally, on Saturday after weeks of waiting, my girls new gymnastics premises opened which all the kids were really looking forward to. It’s not fully fitted out but they’re in! My daughter was excited to try it all out.

Ok, so that was my week. Hope you all had a great half term. Looking forward to having a read to see what everyone else has been up to!

  1. I have your take on Half Terms but take my hat off you for injecting so much fun into just one week especially when facing a loss in the family. All the pics are fab but love the one with the dog best

  2. brinabird and son says:

Sounds like a pretty busy half term with lots of play dates. Do like that train at the park and that porche is pretty awesome.

  3. Thanks for linking up to Project 365
