Project 365 and Diary Update 2014 – Week 12

Day 75 Sunday 16th March - Three youngest had a party

Day 75, Sunday 16th March – Three youngest had a party, my twins here enjoying some of the usual party treats

This week has, yet again, been a whirlwind of busy-ness, I literally haven’t stopped and most of it I believe revolves around running Teen here and there for various activities and/or social engagements. My girl isn’t far behind him either in terms of places she has to be and that’s before I’ve even started on my twins or, dare I say it, myself! There simply aren’t enough hours in the day!

I know it’s a cliche but children are definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, EASIER when they are small!

Day 76 - Holding on to the decent weather, this is my boys on the trampoline in the garden

Day 77 - I thought this was a great shot of our little white rabbit! It's so hard to get a pic of him as he is always moving

Day 78 - In Central London today for the Sainsbury's Spring and Summer event! It was held in a great location on the South Bank, days like this I really love being a blogger :)

My twins, this week, had a sharing assembly at school. I don’t think this is something that happens at every school, so I’ll explain. Once or twice a year, each class in the school shares an assembly with the rest of the school (infants and juniors are separate) and the parents of that class. They usually prepare something in relation to the topics they’ve been studying at that time. It’s just a nice way to see what they have been doing and of course, to see your little offspring perform or read in some way!

But my poor little boys went to pieces. Their shyness got the better of them again. In fact, the photo below when they all had books covering their faces was probably their favourite part lol!

I knew they would find it difficult. It’s a shame because they were looking forward to it but they’d obviously been practicing in an empty hall so when that hall was suddenly full of faces it, of course, was always going to be challenging. We did tell them there would be an audience but I don’t think they really acknowledged it.

Never mind, they’re shy, deal with it. They will hopefully grow out of it in their own time. Their class teachers, however, had anticipated this eventuality and had prepared a little video of my boys to show to the audience on the big screen at the end of assembly. It was a magic trick that they performed, and it meant they had felt a part of the whole thing. They got a huge round of applause which was fantastic for them. I can’t actually believe their teachers did something so special and thoughtful for them.

Day - Teen hasn't been swimming at all recently so this was a real treat for me. He was taking part in a country schools competition. that's him on the blocks, lane 5

Day 80 – Teen has gone from swim training every single day and reaching the National finals to practically giving up. I haven’t seen him race for some time, I miss it,  so this was a real treat for me. He was taking part in a County schools competition, that’s him on the blocks, lane 5

Day 81 - Another day, another party! These were the little 'party bag' treats that were given out after the party! A nice gesture to receive a little present afterwards :)

I have to say, on Saturday we went to a total of five parties!! I repeat, FIVE!!!! Not all of us to all parties but between us I think you’ll agree that’s a fair amount, along with a fair amount of gift buying too!

So, that was my week…. hope you had a more restful one than me :)
