All children love to play sports of some type. Even if too shy for a club or at school, they like to at least kick or throw a ball around at home in the garden.
Usually these things are instilled in them as toddlers when we buy all the cute little ‘toy’ sports equipment like plastic pink tennis rackets for girls, blue footballs, flimsy basketball nets or pop up football goals that don’t last five minutes.
Then as they grow a little bigger they don’t want the coloured plastic tat, they want the real deal. But where do you buy this sort of thing? Because most ‘proper’ sports equipment is all adult sized and way too big!
Little Big Sports is a fabulous little online store that sells sports equipment suited to children of all sizes. I wrote a little bit more about the store a few weeks ago, when I was chosen to be a brand ambassador for the company.
They very kindly sent over a kids cricket bat and a windball for my little 4yr old twins to try out and review, which they were thrilled with.

H showing off the bat and ball when we took it into the garden to play with (after the stormy weather), as you can see it’s this bat is perfect size for him.
The Kwik Cricket Bat is lightweight but sturdy enough to feel ‘real’ and is an ‘ideal starter bat for young people starting out in their cricket career’! It also comes in three different sizes so you can find the perfect match for your child, this one being the smallest.

The handle has a professional non slip grip which is perfect for little hands, my boys could hold the bat easily and comfortably

O and H were thoroughly enjoying themselves playing cricket in the garden. The bat was easy for them to swing, even if they didn’t know how to properly play cricket!

The gorgeous Winders windball is a light, soft rubber ball which has the look and feel of a cricket ball but without the solid, heavyness that would be dangerous around small children (and your windows!). O and H liked this ball and the bright orange colour 🙂
Verdict: My boys love their new cricket bat and ball, they have played with it constantly, even inside the house! They’ve managed to hit the ball, believe it or not, after a bit of practicing, which is no mean feat… I’m very pleased with this! It has taught them to have patience, wait and take it in turns to hold the bat while the other throws the ball, as well as that all important eye to ball coordination.
They have had lots of fun, both items are very reasonable, not overpriced as most sports equipment is and we would thoroughly recommend.
Head on over to the Little Big Sports website and take a look at all the fantastic items they sell http://www.littlebigsports.co.uk/, they have great customer service so if there is anything your child needs but you can’t find it on the site then please do call them, and they will try their best to accommodate.
