Little Big Sports – Cricket Bat and Ball – Review and Giveaway

All children love to play sports of some type. Even if too shy for a club or at school, they like to at least kick or throw a ball around at home in the garden.

Usually these things are instilled in them as toddlers when we buy all the cute little ‘toy’ sports equipment like plastic pink tennis rackets for girls, blue footballs, flimsy basketball nets or pop up football goals that don’t last five minutes.

Then as they grow a little bigger they don’t want the coloured plastic tat, they want the real deal. But where do you buy this sort of thing? Because most ‘proper’ sports equipment is all adult sized and way too big!

Little Big Sports is a fabulous little online store that sells sports equipment suited to children of all sizes. I wrote a little bit more about the store a few weeks ago, when I was chosen to be a brand ambassador for the company.

They very kindly sent over a kids cricket bat and a windball for my little 4yr old twins to try out and review, which they were thrilled with.

H showing

H showing off the bat and ball when we took it into the garden to play with (after the stormy weather), as you can see it’s this bat is perfect size for him.

The Kwik Cricket Bat is lightweight but sturdy enough to feel ‘real’ and is an ‘ideal starter bat for young people starting out in their cricket career’! It also comes in three different sizes so you can find the perfect match for your child, this one being the smallest.

The handle has a professional non slip grip which is perfect for little hands, my boys could hold the bat comfortably

O and H were thoroughly enjoying themselves playing cricket in the garden

O and H were thoroughly enjoying themselves playing cricket in the garden. The bat was easy for them to swing, even if they didn’t know how to properly play cricket!

The gorgeous ball

The gorgeous Winders windball is a light, soft rubber ball which has the look and feel of a cricket ball but without the solid, heavyness that would be dangerous around small children (and your windows!). O and H liked this ball and the bright orange colour 🙂

Verdict: My boys love their new cricket bat and ball, they have played with it constantly, even inside the house! They’ve managed to hit the ball, believe it or not, after a bit of practicing, which is no mean feat… I’m very pleased with this! It has taught them to have patience, wait and take it in turns to hold the bat while the other throws the ball, as well as that all important eye to ball coordination.

They have had lots of fun, both items are very reasonable, not overpriced as most sports equipment is and we would thoroughly recommend.

Head on over to the Little Big Sports website and take a look at all the fantastic items they sell http://www.littlebigsports.co.uk/, they have great customer service so if there is anything your child needs but you can’t find it on the site then please do call them, and they will try their best to accommodate.

Little Big Sports

I don’t know if you noticed the shiny new badge I’ve recently added to my sidebar, but if you have you will have guessed that I have been chosen to be an Ambassador for a great online kids store: Little Big Sports!

I’m very excited to be working with this brand and it’s very lovely owner, Katie, who was inspired to set up the business by her young son when she struggled to find sports equipment tailored to his needs as younger child. It’s a business that I believe in and one that I’m happy to represent and promote.

Littlebigsports.co.uk

Little Big Sports is a fantastic online store where you can find all the sports equipment a child could need that has been specially designed with the under 12’s in mind. The website is very easy to navigate and if you’re not exactly sure what you need then you can call up and speak to someone who will be very happy to help you. I think that’s the beauty of a family run business; owners on hand to ensure their customers feel happy with the service and find the product they are looking for.

Little Big Sports has won numerous awards including the much sought after ‘Small Business Sunday’ (#SBS) award that’s run by Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis, and Jacqueline Gold’s ‘Women in Business’ award…. recognition indeed I’d say!

As an ambassador for the brand, I’ll be carrying out reviews on some of the fab products on offer and running a couple of competitions too so you must keep an eye out for those, first review coming up very soon 🙂
